Make It: The Mint Julep


2 1/2 Ounces of Bourbon

1/4 Ounce Simple of Syrup

Handful of Mint

1 Sugar Cube

Lots of Crushed Ice

How to Mix

Add all ingredients to the glass with one sprig of mint set aside. Muddle your sugar cube and mint, add ice and stir.  Add more ice to the top of the drink and garnish with the remaining sprig of mint.

Fun Facts

There are few cocktails as quintessentially American as the Mint Julep. Invented in early America back in the 18th century, this bourbon-based refresher is a true classic. Associated closely with the Kentucky Derby since the late 1930s and famous for landmark film appearances in “The Great Gatsby” and “Goldfinger,” this drink is sure to stir up some epic toasts to the ol’ US of A.
